Management Servers Health State not monitored in SCOM2012SP1

    Question

  •  Hi,

I am facing the problems in SCOM2012SP1.

We have 2 SCOM Management Servers (1- RMS & 1-MS) and  SQL 2008R2 Database.

After installed Management Servers, Health State is showing Not Monitored.

And due to this we are not able to push SCOM agent in clients also.

I have followed few troubleshooting steps already.

    1) Restarted Health State.

    2) Restarted System Center Management Service.

    3) Cross verified firewall also. Firewall not enabled in both management servers.Able to ping each other servers.

    4) 5723 & 5724 Ports are opened in both servers.

Please provide me the appropriate solution to solve these issues.

    Jagan.

  • Hi,

Finally my problem has been resolved.

    The problem is with instance.

We have modified the registry with proper instance name.

SCOM started working of monitoring Health of servers.

And also able to install agents.

    Thanks for your response.

  • Hi,

    Is it a new installation?

    Please check the following post:

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh212723.aspx

Please check the OperationsManager event log on the Management Server for errors.

What is the error message when you push agents?

But I am not able to find where to check for this error.

And not sure this could be the reason of Health Monitor failing for Management Servers.

Not understanding where is the exact issue.

  • Hi,

"System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException (0x80131904): Cannot open database "OperationsManager" requested by the login. The login failed.
    Login failed for user 'RES\svc_scom'."

Are you able to connect to the SQL instance with RES\svc_scom using the SQL Server Management Studio? Are you able to open the OperationsManager database with RES\svc_scom?

  • Please check the service login account of "system Center Data Access Service" and "system Center Management Configuration" service. Make sure that the login information should be same as the RMS. Moreover, the login account should not be a local system.
