    Question

  • Hi

I have OData connection in my application with date and few other fields. How to add a custom filter range as from start period to end period as a text box or other control that should affect the pivot chart and pivot table.

    How it is possible?

Macros are not working when i put it in share point. I want to avoid VLOOKUPS.

Answers

  • you may create two time-slicers

one on year-level and one on date- or month-level
the year-slicer would then automatically filter the other slicer too (and also the other way round)

  • Just click on pivot table or pivot chart field list which will contain the fields you want and choose Add to Filter option. It will automatically add a dropdown on the chart/table with all available values from the field.

  • Hi Thanks for your reply. At user perspective this will not be a good option. I have a column chart with calender date from 2011 to 2014 in x axis and count in y axis. What should i do if i want to see the range of past 7 days or past 14 days or a custom range like 06.03.2013 to 23.07.2013. That's why i asked for a custom filtering option. How it can be achieved.

  • Thanks. Time slicer is what you are telling about time line if I'm not wrong. Will that be efficient for user to scroll and see. Because if its gonna be a year data, that's an awesome idea. Rather I have 4 years of data.
