Hyper-v in hyper-v

Answers

  • this isn't good work , because you want ti use 2 hypervisor within each other .
You can install Hyper-V as a virtual machine, but it won't be usable as a hypervisor since the hardware requirements for running virtual machines is absent in a guest environment. The hardware assisted DEP and virtualization functions in the CPU is not provisioned down to virtual machines.

  •   I agree - it isn't going to work. You will be able to install the Hyper-V role, but it will not run vms.

Once you install Hyper-V, your host OS is itself effectively running as a vm on top of the hypervisor. You cannot then run another hypervisor in the vm, as the hypervisor must run on the physical hardware.

  • Hi,
you've posted in the MOF forum, but your post seems unrelated to MOF.
Microsoft Operations Framework is a collection of best practices, principles, and models that offer guidance to IT organizations for managing their IT services. MOF, which supports such service management frameworks as ITIL, ISO/IEC 20000, and CoBiT, is built on the data and wisdom of Microsoft users, customers, partners, and internal IT and research groups. MOF organizes operational IT management in such a way that the businesses can rely on high service availability, based on the reliability and control of the IT systems.

Your post seems that it might attract more interest/assistance in a different forum, perhaps:

  • Sorry, but you have posted your question in a forum that discusses Microsoft Operations Framework (MOF). I’m moving this thread.

    Hope that helps
