Expired password changed in RDP session does not work when logging back into physical workstation

  • We have some users complaining that when they are prompted to change their password in an RDP session they can no longer login to their personal workstation after the change takes place. The passwords are usually reset or changed from the DC if this occurs, however, I am interested in fixing the problem but have been unable to find anything similar.

    The environment consists of a 2008 R2 RDP server and a 2003 server DC running at a Windows 2000 Functional Level. I have been unable to replicate the problem, when I run through the motions everything works as it should. A fellow employee has witnessed the occurrence of this problem but nothing stands out when we are sifting through the events on both the DC or RDP server.

    If anyone can provide any kind of input I would be very grateful for the help.
