RCDC Contacts

    Question

  • Hello,I have created a resource for contacts.
And I've customized the RCDC for them. As I can do to make the owner is automatically the LoginID, as in distribution groups?
    Thank you very much.

  • Unfortunately you can't do this in the RCDC. You need to create a request based MPR that fires an action workflow to update the owner attribute and add the requestor.

  • Before you embark down this path too far, is there any reason why you wouldn't consider using the standard Person object for contacts, since in the FIM Portal a "person" is still a "person" regardless of whether or not they have a user account linked (via the sync engine) to AD are they not?  Consider using binding(s) on the standard Person object to allow you to easily differentiate those falling in the scope of a "Users are synchronized to AD" MPR as opposed to a "Contacts are synchronized to AD" MPR.  I think if you adopt this approach your solution will be more mainstream and therefore more supportable (and less reliant on custom workflows, etc.).  There is no right or wrong here, but it sometimes pays to "go with the flow".

Here is an article which talks about how this is done in a very specific scenario: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff721965(v=ws.10).aspx ... while it may not be the same as yours, the same principles still hold.

  • I do not want to have accounts, I just want to add contacts to a group of disribucion. And I want to delegate management to the owners.

    Thank you.
