If I destroy a Hpyer-V cluster, will the nodes go back to being standalone servers?

    Question

  • I have inherited a system infrastructure with no prior documentation (of course). The person before me created a Hyper-V cluster with 4 nodes and one as a failover. What I would like to do is make each of the nodes standalone again as part of the domain so that I may use the failover node as the need has arisen for another virtual machine. If I destroy the cluster, will that affect the virtual machines on it already? I did some searching already and everything talks about migrating the cluster to a new server or evicting a single node. These servers are all Windows Server 2008 R2 Server Core installations.
