Hi, I need to apply the CU4 for SQL Server 2012 SP1, but when I launch the exe file no SQL instances are seen.
The db machine already has the SQL Server 2012 SP1 (Enterprise Edition).
How could I solve this issue, please? Thanks
I can add that the setup file of CU 4 shows this message:
The version of SQL Server instance Shared Component does not match the version expected by the SQL Server update. The installed SQL Server product version is 11.0.2100.60, and the expected SQL Server version is 11.1.3000.0.
The existing SQL instance has this version number: 11.0.3128.0.

It seems to have components of mixed builds (versions). Run the discovery Report and you will be able to confirm it.
Please re-apply SP1 again and then apply CU4.
My suggestion is to apply CU5 instead of CU5.
Hope this helps.
I've opened this issue because I've registered an error on the db server of a SharePoint 2013 farm.
In this farm, two sites with the corresponding content db function normally but the last one no.
So, in the event viewer I can see this event id: event id 17053 System Health Monitor Thread: Operating system error Exception 0x1 encountered.
In this thread I've read that it is necessary to apply the CU 4 for SP1:
I've applied the CU 2 and then the CU 4, but the error remains and moreover, for the engine instance I can read this version number: Microsoft SQL Server 2012 (SP1) - 11.0.3128.0. It is the same number preceding any CU application.
If you search on Microsoft Connect and on this forum, you will find CU3 and CU4 introduced some issues. As mentioned before, try CU5.
Hope this helps.
