Error received for second Domain. Cannot connect via Smart Phones. Exchange 2010

    Question

  • Currently have two domains and two child domains in a single forest. Domain 1, has the two child domains. Domain 2 is by itself with no child domains. Exchange 2010 servers reside in domain1. 

    All users connection to mail.domain1.com to access email via owa. This works fine for both top level domains and both child domains. Users can connect to OWA and access mail with no issues for all domains.

    However when attempting to access via smart phone, those users in Domain2 are unable to connect to their mail. All settings are accepted but when trying to access mail it fails (example is iPhone - "Cannot Get Mail").
    Using the Test Exchange Connectivity tool shows that there are errors when using a Domain2 login credentials (see below). I've confirmed that inheritance is on for those user accounts per the article. However, maybe the correct Exchange permission isn't set at the top level of that domain. Thoughts?

    An ActiveSync session is being attempted with the server.
      Errors were encountered while testing the Exchange ActiveSync session.
     
    Test Steps
     
    Attempting to send the OPTIONS command to the server.
      The OPTIONS response was successfully received and is valid.

    Attempting the FolderSync command on the Exchange ActiveSync session.
      The test of the FolderSync command failed.

      Exchange ActiveSync returned an HTTP 500 response.
