Local client resiliency in DirectAcess

    Question

  • Hi,

If the Direct Access server or the Internet connectivity at the site where the direct access server is located is down our DA clients lose connectivity not just to the LAN but also to the Internet.

Is there any way of configuring Direct Access so that this doesn't happen?

  • Are you saying that, if a laptop user in a hotel (e.g.) is connected to corp using DA, if Direct Server goes down or Internet Connectivity at DA server site, the laptop at the Hotel looses Internet Connectivity to Hotel wifi etc?

If yes, how is this restored?

Have you installed the DCA Assistant if you are running Windows 7?

  • Yes that's exactly what I'm saying.

We are using Windows 8 and Windows 7.  We are using Server 2012.  I have actually set this up for 3 customers - all have the same issue.
