BSOD on Win 8 , Need assistance

    Question

  • I have been having problems with my new gateway PC. Recently it shuts down without warning giving me, as I have learned, the win 8 version of the bsod. I have tried to add a link to the dump files but this site won't let me because of account verification(I don't know how) but I created this account for this question in particular. I hope that someone may be able to help me. I have no idea where to start and any help is appreciated. I really need to fix my computer.

These were all Related to NetgearUDSMBus.sys KCodes Master Bus of USB Software Bus.  Yours is ~1 year old.  I would re-install the newest driver available and Remove Symantec and use the built in defender in it place.

  • I'll just add that the process that was consistently crashing in the errors was the following:

    PROCESS_NAME:  Control Center

That process (Control Center) may be triggering the BSOD as suggested here.

If the error continues try uninstalling the NetGear USB Printer Control Center utility if it is installed.

  • Okay, That is wonderful. I wish I could have figured that out on my own, it is a much simpler solution than I thought it would be. Thank you so very much. If I run into any snags I will update. Can't thank you enough.

Fingers crossed.  Let us know if you need help.  BTW Symantec may be contributing which is why I suggested its removal

  • I removed all that was related to Norton and updated Netgear. The computer seemed to be working much better, until the moment it blue screened again. Now this dump I saw that it was indeed NetgearUSB and I removed it completely. I hope that that will do it. If not then I guess I will have to keep searching. I will add the link to the last crash if anyone is interested. Again, thank you for all of your help.

    Most Recent Dump File

  • The link to the most recent dump file does not appear to have the dump file.

However hopefully the issue is resolved but if not post back.
