new task doesn't appear in Windows Deployment Wizard on client machine

    Question

  • Hello,

newly created task (not hidden and enabled as by default) doesn't appear in Task Sequences of Windows Deployment Wizard on client machine. All other enabled and unhidden tasks do appear.

The task is created for deployment of Windows Embedded 7.

Could it be the issue? I guess that even something is wrong with the OS image the task should be listed...

You can deploy both 32- and 64- bit operating systems with the x86 boot image, but you can only deploy 64 bit operating systems with the 64 bit boot image. So check which boot image you are using! • Hi,

Check which platforms are supported. Perhaps you are planning to deploy a 32-bit operating system, while you have only 64-bit checked. Then this can occur.

Look at your deployment share properties:

  • Something is missing from your problem statement here.

OPen up the bdd.log file and cross check the files loaded by the wizard.hta program.

Cross reference with the \\server\deploymentshare$\control\tasksequence.xml file to ensure that the new Task is present and active.

  • Hi,

1.Rens, x86 and x64 are both checked. But I guess that something is wrong regarding x86 and x64.

    The last line of BDD.log:

    "Skip cross platform x86 install from x64 Windows PE. T610 Wizard 2013-10-04 10:31:35 0 (0x0000)"

    2. Keith, here are both logs proposed for troubleshooting... Last TS "T610" (see taksequence.xml) doesn't appear in Windows Deployment Wizard.

May be the last line of BDD will help you to explain my problem. The captured image is 32bit WES 7.

When imported captured WIM to Operating System, for Setup I provided path to WES7 of Microsoft and it is 32 bit.

    Please help.
