    Question

  • hi,

    i have install new server windows 2008 std R2,configure active directory, create user, server working fine.

    when i add windows xp client pc to domain server 2008 after add domain,when i logon to the domain user login very slow take 15 to 20 min on all pc

  • Its could be DNS issue .Please verify that your clients are pointing to your Windows server’s DNS and and dynamic updates are enabled in DNS server  .Also ensure the win2k8 server points to itself as a DNS server using 127.0.0.1 as the DNS address

  • Hello,

    this sounds like DNS misconfiguration, please post an unedited ipconfig /all from the DC/DNS server and the client with slow logon.

  • There can be several cause for the slow log ins, Look into the event viewer for more details.

    Check the below blog for slow log on issues.
