  • oh~~ just found the file with chinese words can't be read in windows 2003 also..

The main problem is we are going to import these files to a SQL table. after import to sql 2000 , chinese words can be read.

while import to SQL 2008 , chinese words can't be READ.

  • Hi,

Based on my research, you'll fail on ANSI-files which contain 'high' characters (over 127) if you read the file wihout an encoding. If you specify the ANSI encoding, ANSI files will be read correctly. Maybe when you opened the file, it was readed by using the system default encoding which may not be the same as the encoding of the file.

In addition, I recommend you ask in the SQL forum for further assistance.
