Concatenate number and string

    Question

  • Hi,

I have a column of numbers and another one of strings, say A, B and C in A2:A4 and 1,2,3 in B2:B4.  In column C, I would like to create a concatenated column.  So the result in C2:C4 should be A:1, B:2 and C:3

How can this be done in Power Query?

  • You can duplicate the number column into a new column, change the new column type to text, create the concatenated column with the text file & the new column and remove the new column.

  • Dany's suggestion should work, but another way of doing this in a single step (custom column) would be using this custom formula in the Insert Custom Column dialog:

    [A] & Text.From([B])

    Thanks,
