WSUS Report Issue

    Question

  • I have followed the step by step guide found on technet but have still been facing an issue with WSUS client's.

I keep on getting the same message "The computer has not reported status yet" and for some reasons windows update does not download.

    Any clue?

Well, really, we need more detail, including what is actually happening on the client and being logged in the WindowsUpdate log, but given the fact that you can access resources via IE, my guess would be that this is a recent deployment of WSUS, the clients are already running the WUAgent v7.6, and you've not patched the WSUS Server.

  • Hi,

We could download the Client Diagnostic tool on the computer. And run it to find more information.

Please also install http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2720211/de on your
    WSUS.

In addition, the below article should be useful for you to troubleshoot this issue:

  • Hi Yan,

    Thank you for replying.

I ran the CDT on the computers and received all pass's from the test the tool has performed.

When I typed - http://WSUSServerName/selfupdate/wuident.cab (I replaced WSUSserverName with my server name)

It gave me the option to open or save the download and according to the article that means there is something wrong but it does not show how to fix that.

I can also successfully ping the WSUS server from the client machine.

Finally I tried wuauclt.exe /resetauthorization /detectnow but the error still exists.

    Any other idea?
