MUltiple Remove Desktop Connections, what's the best cost-benefit option?

    Question

  • Hi All

We are looking to allow our remote employees to access data on our Server. This Server should allow multiple remote desktop logins, currently we need 15.

*Note, that this server is just a software repository, and we are not willing to have this server managing the Internal Network such as having Activity Directory or any other service.

What is the best option in terms of Operational System and Licensing?

Windows Server 2012 has many new features for the RDS-role, so i would go on with that. And buy RDS CAL's for the users.

  • Hi Oscar

Thanks for replying. Windows Server 2012 has few licenses (standard, foundation, enterprise, etc), would you know which one would fit for a software repository server function? Server has just 2 core processors.

    Thanks
