    Question

I have a Job which runs every two minutes.

In need to schedule it in such a way that until first run finishes second run should not be initiated.

  • Yes. If the previous run of the job is not yet completed, it wont get triggered again. Its managed by sql agent itself and you dont need to do anything for that.

  • Unless the first run is over another instance will not get fired. Every two minutes it checks if job is already running and only if its not it will trigger a new instance.

  • you mean to say for once job at a time only one instance will be invoked z it?

If my run1  is taking more than 2 minutes it will not invoke by default run2 .IS my understanding correct?

Is this something sql agent manages it self or do i need to set something /
