    General discussion

  • I start having this problem now and it started recently maybe after Jan 1, 2014, anyway I have two servers both of them are not accessible from out side and I start checking and found that both servers can not browse intrnally either on IP address.

    ping localhost   -> 127.0.0.0   Able to ping

    ping MyServer1   -> 192.168.0.100  Able to Ping

    On IIS: I have binding with IP and * tried many different scenario

    c:>telnet localhost 80   Success and get reply

    c:>telnet 192.168.0.100  Timed out

    I did a Netstat and server is not listening on port 80 on IP address 192.168.0.100 and I could not figure it out restarted server few times but no luck so far. If I could telnet on the local IP address that will be a start any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks

  • I meant c:>telnet 192.168.0.100 80 And No reply  (I forgot to type "80")

    TCP    127.0.0.1:80           MyServer1:0           LISTENING  (I am not able to change this to 0.0.0.0 on any IP)

  • Note: when I

    netsh http add iplisten ipaddress=0.0.0.0

    I can telnet on port 80 of IP address.

  • Sounds like a web service may not be running. You might ask them over here.

  • I am not sure what do you mean &  if service is not running it will not respond to localhost either.

    If you read the issue Problem is that port 80 is not responding to IP addresses 192.168.0.100 only to localhost (127.0.0.1),

    In IIS Binding I have added host with * as well as 192.168.0.100 and I tried many different scenarios but netstat shows 127.0.0.1:80 I believe it should show 0.0.0.0:80
