Scan Engines not updating in Antigen 9.0I have installed Antigen 9.0 on a Small Business Server 2003 with Exchange. None of the scan engines are updating. The server connects to the internet through an internal ISA server proxy so it is defined in Internet Explorer as the proxy using port 8080. I have set this up in General Options of the Antigen program also but I keep getting an error in the Application Event log 6014. When it tries to download the manifest.cab file the next line says 'the login request was denied'. There may be something to configure for the firewall but I'm not sure what. I have turned of DEP for the scan engine updates and the Windows firewall is off. Do I need to open a special port in the Router and/or Exchange?

This is a 2nd post related to 'New Antigen install' but the other one did not produce much help so I hope this is more specific to the problem.

Any help would be apprediated. This is a new product for me.© 2009 Microsoft Corporation. Also this can be caused by a general timeout situation, which is discusswed in the following KB http://support.microsoft.com/kb/924705

If you have SP1 for Antigen then you already have this hotfix.

Please note that you should create the reg key described in the KB above and also increase the enginedownloadtimeout. The getfilehttptimeout is the timeout for the actual engine download, whereas the enginedownloadtimeout is the overall timeout setting for downloading, testing and bringing online of the engine.

I would recommend the following values

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sybari Software\Antigen for
Exchange\EngineDownloadTimeout - 1500 (Decimal)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sybari Software\Antigen for Exchange\GetFileHTTPTimeout
- 90000 (Decimal)

I hope this helps
AlexWed, 22 Apr 2009 15:15:25 Z2009-04-22T15:15:25Z
