SCEP with SCCM 2012 - definitions don't update

Totally stumped on this...
I've added the SCEP role to SCCM 2012, configured the clients, SUP, ADR, and anti-malware policies. The clients auto installs SCEP, updates itself for the first time, and sets the correct policy. The ADR is enabled and has created a software update group, which is updated each day.
BUT the clients then no longer update the definitions. Although SCCM can see that their required.
One of the clients is installed on my laptop, and when out of work (ie no longer access to the SCCM server), and i run the update task in SCEP, it updates fine.
Struggling to work out where i've gone wrong on this. Have followed both this http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh508770 and this http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/6106-using-system-center-2012-configuration-manager-part-6-adding-the-endpoint-protection-role-configure-alerts-and-custom-antimalware-policies/
Any help on what logs to check or settings to go over would be much appreciated.

Well it's always the way I guess, but after posting this I had one last look before hitting the sack, and I reckon I might of cracked...
The ADR is deployed to a device collection that has no maintenance window, thinking that the patches will just get installed asap. Now I've just found a handy report in monitoring for checking out the stats of the deployments, and can see they're all waiting for a maintenance window!!
So have set up a maintenance window now, and that'll probably do it. Or I could have just ticked install updates outside maintenance windows in the ADR. But not having set any maintenance, I though it would act the same way.
Will update here on the results.
