    Hello,

Probably a simple question but I dont know the answer...

We have just installed the SCCM client on a laptop and run the HArdware inventory refresh on it and its run one of our packages and its been retarted etc. However its put the machine into the Not Targeted Collection...

Does anyone know why this is as I want it targeted? Also why machines would go in there?

Or do I just have to wait for the queries to refresh?

Another question I have is what does the Dynamically add new resources check box do under the Membership rules tab in the properties of a collection?

    Many Thanks

    James

    Hi James,

    Thank you for the post.

    Not Targeted collection criteria:
.FEP agent is not in Add/Remove Programs (Hardware Inventory) with version  2.0.0610.0 or higher
.No deployment advertisement is targeted to the client
.The last FEP related operation advert status message is about the deployment package/program

Or do I just have to wait for the queries to refresh?
You could right click the collection--click update collection Membership.

Another question I have is what does the Dynamically add new resources check box do under the Membership rules tab in the properties of a collection?
You want to view/edit the FEP locked collections? Run command "UPDATE [SMS_LAB].[dbo].[Collections] SET Flags = 274 WHERE Flags = 258"  to unlock the collections via the SQL Server manager.

If there are more inquiries on this issue, please feel free to let us know.

    Rick,

Thanks for clearing that up its now gone into the correct collection so muct have just needed the weekend to catch up on the server to put it into the collection it wanted and then deployed this morning.

There is a check box on all collections (not just FEP specific) which say Dynamically Add new resources and I am just wondering what it does?

    Many Thanks

    Hi James,

You mean Update this collection on a schedule check box?
Preinstalled collections schedules updates for once per day and FEP collections for once per hour.

    Hi James

Oh, the check box is added in SCCM2007 R3. It updates collections membership for only SCCM new resources.
