Will the new version have forefront have removable device control that can rival those out there on the market now? For example will we be able to say person A can have write access to USB memory sticks only with forced encryption but that person B on the same PC has read only access?

Can I simplify this question as there has been no answer. Will there be any removable device control elements in Stirling?

    Hi,

From what I've seen in the current V2.0 beta it allows you to configure usb/cd-rom/floppy drives to full access, read only and no-access. Bitlocker to go in windows 7 will have the ability to enforce encryption to get full access. I'm still hoping that when Forefront Protection Suite 2010 is released we can configure specific brands and types of removable devices that are allowed or not.

Do you know if the USB access control shown above will be user based or PC based, i.e. is it "No access on this PC for anyone" or "No access for this user on any PC" ?

Device Control is computer based. Policies are applied on computerobjects and not on user accounts. But this is Beta 2. Could be that the RC or RTM will have this feature, I don't know that.
