Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 - NO MOM at all?

Hi, I would like to know if Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 will NOT contain any MOM/SCOM components any more? if so, will it leverage any SCCM component?

As I was researching the install for FCS 2007, I found a very small blip in the documentation about how server components are not supported in a sql cluster. Which, honestly, is pretty frustrating but beside the point for this post. Will this be supported in this new version?

Installing Stirling x64 on Windows 7 beta

I have been trying to install the Stirling client beta on a 64 bit Windows 7 beta with no luck. Is there a trick or is it not supported?

What level of control over removable devices will forefront have?

Will the new version have forefront have removable device control that can rival those out there on the market now? For example will we be able to say person A can have write access to USB memory sticks only with forced encryption but that person B on the same PC has read only access?

"Stirling" Next Generation Forefront Client & Server Console Questions

Ok a few questions on the "Stirling" Next Generation Forefront Client & Server Console.

I have the test all-on-one server up and it has pushed out a Client app along with the SC Config Client to the end user.

One of my quesitons is there a end user console? The only options even to a admin is Start Quick Scan, Check for Update, Manage Quarantied Items, and view network restrication status on a end user machine.. If you are on a client how can you tell if the Def are up to the most current date. Also how do you stop a quick scan that is in progress? There is no left or right click options on the icon as it is scanning.

On the Stirling Console when you are on dashboard then deployment summary it will let you drill down on the pie chart to see the PC that are in each group put on the Antimalware summary it will not let you drill down to see the computer that have the signatures or the ones that have malware requiring action. How do you check those?

Just a few things and I know the product is still in beta and not the released version but just check to see the funcationaly now before release.

Isa 2006 - Forefront Client Install - No defnitions being pulled

Does anyone have this client working on a Isa server 2006?

Could you help me out with a firewall policy?

We've rolled out the A/V to 200 workstations so I know how a GPO should be configured to work.

I've followed the same GPO procedure as I did with workstation and our ISA shows up as a managed computer in WSUS.

I've allowed http + https protocols from ISA to WSUS server. Still yellow icon, not green.

Can't figure it out.

I may try re-install product with /nomom switch.

Any plans for a Forefront Client for Windows Mobile? Mobile devices are, and have been a target for these for a while, and I would honestly not want to use the 'S'-word's solution. ;)

I couldn't install Forefront client security in a laptop Sony VAIO VGN-CS170F it has MS Vista Home Premium x64 y try with 32 and 64 Forefront client, in 32 said the system is diferent, but whit 64 bit looks like it going to install but doesn't. Any idea what should i check to install Fofefront in this computer?

I want to be able to tell forefront client to scan any usb device such as a hard drive or a thumb when it connects before letting the user use it. Is this possible with Forefront?

I installed a Windows Server 2008 Enterprise (64bit) with a SQL Server 2008. This, I would like to Forefront hedge (against viruses). Is there a good guide to the installation of Forefront Client Security on the system?

Until now I used Forefront yet, so my question. A legal license can I get the MS program students.

I have some suggestions as to the new version of FCS (if it´s not too late):

Allow the old right click scan now option on files and folders (obvious)
Upon choosing to undeploy a policy, would be excellent if it didn´t remove the policy from every one of the OU`s it has associated
Support for renaming a policy which has been created
Ability to run a full scan from a report and not only from the Scan Now button
Ability to search for a computer's status directly from the FCS console and not from the MOM console
Why, with group policy, allow a client to automatically install updates once a day maximum if the WSUS server is synchronizing the latest updates up to 24 hours a day? In the worst of scenarios, a client could be 23 hours and 59 minutes out of date - what is the point of allowing the WSUS server to synchronize so frequently? Add to that up to 3 tiers of WSUS servers, and the GPO refresh interval, and the potential delay could be well over a day.....

Still no support for SQL clustering?

According to the notes on http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc441281.aspx it is still not supported to use SQL clustering for Stirling components. I hope this will be fixed for the RTM.

For the enterprise (5000 clients and up) HA is not optional but a real must. This is one of the problems in FCS 1.0 and really must be fixed in Stirling.
