      Hi All, in my environment I have one Edge server with FPE in DMZ, for inbound mail flow. I'm using Backscatter filter on FPE. 

      Only one question: is it mandatory on HT server to enable FPE Antispam filtering, only to import backscatter filer keys?

      Hi,

      yes that's right. If you want to import the key you have to enable antispam and the backscatter featrues. Due to other features like RBL are already done by your EDGE you can disable the other antispam features.

      Hi Christiam, thank you for your reply.

      In my opinion it's not enough to activate BS filter only on the Egde servers because if you create a transport rule on HT server to reject some kind of message, the NDR generated by HT is refused by Edge server by BATV filter.

      In any case my question was if it's mandatory, on HT server, to enable from FPE GUI the entire  Antispam filter, only to import BS keys (and then disabling all other filters).

      Hi,

      as Nick has written in his post:

      "If you have multiple edge or hub servers in your environment, you will need to distribute the keys to all FPE protected servers so that they use the same keys to create tokens for outgoing mail.”

      So it's clear that you have to distribute the key to all your servers. If you don't need the antispam features on your other servers you can disable them, but leave the backscatter filter enabled.

      Hi Christian, it's clear form that I must import BS keys in my HT server. My doubt was only whether if it was possible to import BS keys without activate Antispam filer, and disable all unnecessary features (leaving only BS filter on).

      All other Anti-spam features in HT are imho unnecessary because tasks already performed by Edge server.

      Do you agree?
