Forefront for Exchange 2007

Hello,
I am a new to the Forefront system and have a few questions. I currently have Exchange 2007 running and I am using Trend Micro SPAM software for SPAM prevention. We would like to move to MS Forefront. I am reading some info regarding the discontinuation of Forefront and seeing that it is going to be implemented as a "piece" of SCCM.
Can someone please clarify this for me? My hope was to install a VM running Server 2008R2 and then install Forefront for SPAM prevention. Is this still possible? If so, what version and other info will I need to get started?
I know these are newbie questions but I am a bit lost and would love to be pointed in the right direction.
Thank you!!

Hey Brian
Thanks for the post ,
Yes it's true for discontinuation FPE and other Forefront Family products , but supported until 2015 .
FPE it's not a piece of SCCM , You mean FEP - great AV .
If You want to protect Exchange and mails use FPE client .

Thank you for your reply. Will this solution work as I mentioned above? Installing a VM Server 2008R2 and installing MS Forefront Protection for Exchange Server on it? Will this protect and be compatible with Exchange 2007?
Can this be separate from the Exchange Server or does it have to be installed on the box as the Exchange Server?

Sure
FPSMC :

FPE Protects :
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/protectingexchangeserverswithforefront.aspx
Do I need both?
If You are going to Mng More than one FPE client so i recommended for FPSMC server to mng them .
FPSCM Provide deployment and organized FPSP/FPE Clients Objects that replicated with AD
I'd be glad to assist You remotely if it possible .
I'd be glad to answer any question
