    Hi,

We are planning to install Forefront Protection for Exchange (FPE) on our Exchange 2010 Mailbox servers.  We have 2 HUB and 2 CAS.  Currently we are a McAfee shop but Groupshield/MSME (counterpart of McAfee for FPE) is problematic on our Mailbox servers so we  are planning to uninstall Groupshield on our Mailbox servers first, and install FPE standalone at the moment.

If all goes well, uninstall Groupshield on HUB servers then install the management console eventually.  We will migrate everything for Forefront if all goes well.

Any thoughts on our procedure? or any problems having FPE run standalone on the Mailbox servers while the HUB servers on a different product?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I don't see a problem by removing McAfee from your mailbox servers and installing FPE on them. There should also be no problem when there is McAfee installed on your hub transport servers and FPE on your mailbox servers.

    Greetings
