Last week there was a slow down in email delivery because of Forefront Protection for Exchange 2010. When I checked processes on our CAS servers, I noticed four thread of "FSCTransportScanner.exe*32" running and consuming nearly all available CPU. This went out for a couple of hours before subsiding.

I've since researched the Hotfix rollups, and in particular hotfix rollup 2 seems to be the closest to addressing transport scan engine exceptions. However, I've been reluctant to apply this since I've not specifically seen the process having issues due to memory. At this point, I think its worth a try. My question is, should I apply hotfix rollup 2, or does hotfix rollup 4 contain all fixes from the previous three hotfixes? If so, then should I only apply hotfix rollup 4?

    Thank you!
