已锁定 Outlook Connector Issue?

Hi. I run an AD network at home with one DC and an Exchnage server with several clients. Just today I built a TMG server to try and replace the old Linux firewall which I have had for years. Installed TMG on a Windows Server 2008 machine and installed a plain vanilla setup. No Edge or Forefront for Exchange.

In Outlook I installed a Hotmail Connector to keep an eye on my Hotmail account. I was all working fine. But after I installed TMG the Outllok Connector no longer works in that it throws up a box asking for my Username and Password and still not after I enter my password, which it does not accept.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers,

    Peter

    Hi,

what type of connection does the Hotmail connector use? you should have a look in the TMG realtime logging to see what is blocking. What type of ISA client do you use?

    Hello Marc,

Thank you for your reply. What type of connector does Hotmail use? frankly, I don't know. I just went to the Windows Live web site and let it do everything. As for ISA client, none I think is the right answer.

In the time frame between my posting my question and receiving your reply I got very frustrated and rebuilt the computer and put ISA 2006 on it and now everything works fine straight out of the box. Beats me.

But it makes me wonder if my connector issue might have been because of TMG still being a Beta product as I also had certificate issues which also disappeared after setting up ISA 2006 instead.

What I plan to do now is to wait for TMG to go Gold and have another shot at it. What I saw of TMG was enough to convince me that I will put it on my network once the final release comes out. But maybe you can answer me this: Once I decide to rebuild from ISA 2006 to TMG will I be able to export my settings and import them into TMG?

In the mean time, thank you again for your reply. I will keep your suggestion in mind.

    Regards,

    Peter
