My computer got infected by Antivirus system PRO which every few minutes pushed porno pages on to the screen.  I ran Microsoft forefront client security program installed on the laptop and it just showed my system is working fine.  I had to google to find out how to manually remove the infected software and had to remove it the hard way. Does it mean that MSForefront is not good enough?

    Hi,

    Thank you for the post.

Generally speaking, Forefront Client Security is powerful security production. It not only delivers unified protection from viruses, spyware, and other malware threats, it also adds significant value to customers by delivering simplified administration and critical visibility into threats, while easily integrating into the existing environment.

I would recommend you to please update the FCS signature definitions on the client and scan the machines, if the issue still retains, please send the sample of the malware to : https://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/Submission/Submit.aspx. As you know, this is our best way to add detection for the malware that are currently not detected.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Regards,

We had the same problem this morning. We have FCS rolled out to all of our clients and it can't clean this particular scareware. We had to download and install malware bytes to get rid of it! This looks really bad to our clients when we promoted FCS and moved our entire environment from Symantec to this Microsoft solution. They have had more infections in the 6 months they've been running Forefront then they have had in three years running even the older versions of Symantec...
