Answered Agent Unable to Read Data from MOM Server Alert

    Hello,

    We have one server that two or three times a time (at random intervals) is reporting the following warning in the event log:-

    The agent was unable to read data from the MOM Server ..... Error code 10053

    I have come across quite a bit of information on warnings with regards to the agent not being able to send data to the MOM server but nothing on problems with reading data from the server.

    Is this likely to be some sort of network issue?

    Hi,

    Thank you for the post.

    1. Reboot your MOM server to verify if the issue exist
    2. Perform following changes in the MOM server registry to maximize the available ports and close open ports within 30 seconds, then reboot to take effect.
    HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters
    MaxUserPort
    Value Type: DWORD
    Value data: 65534 (decimal)

    TcpTimedWaitDelay
    Value Type: DWORD
    Value data: 30 (decimal)
