Hi Guys,
Any one heard any latest news on this?
I have got Windows Server 2008 x64 installed with SQL 2008.
I installed WSUS but the only component that doesn't seem to be working is the SQL Server 2005 Integration Services Component that needs to be installed, now in order to install that I need to install SQL 2005.
Is there a patch that fixes this issue for SQL 2008 to be backwards compatiable with SQL Server 2005 integration services component.
Can any of the microsoft guys shed some light on this a.s.a.p.
Thanks...

Hi!
I'm assuming that you are planing to install FCS on this box judging from your topic title? FCS v.1 is not supported to run on x64 systems. it has to be x86 and SQL 2005 enterprise or standard.

Hi Johan,
Thanks for the reply.
I am planning to install Forefront as part of our Antivirus business solution.
Is there another Forefront package out there that we can install on a Windows Server 2008, x64 with SQL 2008????
Thanks,
Regards...

Hi,
Thank you for the post.
Just like Johan said, you cannot install the FCS(v1) server roles on x64 machine. But Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 will support x64 machine. Please refer to this link: http://blogs.technet.com/b/forefront/archive/2010/04/21/converging-endpoint-security-and-management-it-just-makes-sense.aspx
