- I lease a dedicated Windows 2003 SP2 server from Godaddy.
I would like to use Forefront Client Security to protect it.
Do I need to install all components (remember, the server is "isolated" from my LAN, so I have no desktops or servers to manage or protect).
Is there a way to install only a subset of the components?
Thank you for your help.

Hi,
Thank you for your post.
According to your description, I suggest you install FCS client without MOM agent(clientsetup /nomom) on the Windows Server 2003. And you can get definition updates from Microsoft Update. For more information, please refer to the following article

- Thank you Nick,
I read the article and makes a lot of sense to me.
I'll give it a try tomorrow saturday and let you know how it goes. - Nick,
I installed the client without MOM.
I noticed one thing: The context menu for files in Windows Explorer does not show "Scan with Forefront Security Client" as an option.
I guess the problem is that I have installed a very old version of Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition (from year 2000) and did not uninstall it (I just stopped the service and changed its startup option to manual). The reason I did not unistall NAV is I rather see for a few days if everything goes fine before getting rid of it (I am afraid that if I need to go back, I can find problem installing it again).
Thank you for your help. - Unfortunately v1 fcs does not have shell integration to do a "scan with fcs" v2 will have this functionality.

Other missing good functionality would be:
1. To be able to save custom scans
2. To be able to invoke a custom scan from the commnad line.
Thank you again. - yep I know there has been talk about possibly getting a cmd line tool for custom scans but not sure where thats at if it will happen for v1 or not. Saving them not sure I had seen that request before .. guessing a cmd line option would probably alleviate need for that as you could just have a script file with all the various custom scans you wanted.
