    Hi.
I realize that using Forefront with SQL Express 2005 is unsupported, but will it work (even with lower performance) or is it totally impossible to make both work (Forefront+SQL Express) together?

    Thanks.

    Hi!

I'm afraid that it won't work at all. Go with SQL 2005 x86 (Ent or Std)

    Hi,

    Thank you for your post.

    I agree with Johan.

Based on my experience, if deploying FCS server roles(Collection server & Report server), you have to have SQL 2005 Enterprise or Standard(32 bit). For more information, please see:

    Hi,

Could you give us some arguments about SQL. My customer read in the prerequise that SQL EXPRESS is supported...

This is in the Version 10 FSSMC_USERGUIDE_ENG

    User Prerequisites

The following must be present before FSSMC can be installed:

    ·      Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0. For security reasons, it must be installed and updated manually by an administrator.

    ·      ASP.NET version 2.0

    ·      SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition (and above), SQL Server 2005 Express Edition, or SQL Server 2000

Thanks guys, Actually I gotta try this configuration for my customer on a virtual server. But I would take any suggestion so my customer use the good configuration for the system to be stable. My customer got 65 computer on his domain. This will be a one server configuration with all roles.

    Regards,

My english isnt perfect so please apologize :)

FSSMC != FCS  This is the forum for Forefront Client Security which has different requirements then Forefront Server Security Management Console.
