RRAS stopping
RRAS is stopping interminttently on my ISA Server 2004 with SP3 on a Windows 2003 Server with SP2. RRAS is setup as a DHCP Relay Agent to support individual PPTP VPN users access. The RRAS console shows it server stopped along with Remote Access Policies and Remote Access Logging. I can start RRAS back up on the server but Remote Access Policies and Remote Access Logging remain stopped and the only way to get them started again is to restart the server. When RRAS console shows the server stopped the Remote Access Service on the ISA Console still shows it as running. RRAS has been running on this server for DHCP Relay Agent support for 2 years with no problems till I installed Windows 2003 SP3 and ISA Server 2004 SP2. Do you know of any reason for RRAS to stop like this or whan can I do to further diagnose the problem.
Thanks
Ken

When you have ISA Server installed it manages your RRAS service. Moreover all VPN configuration should be managed thru ISA server. You should go to ISA server management console and enable VPN clients access according to your needs.

- VPN client access is configured thru the ISA Sever management console. My RRAS is configured per Microsoft ISA Server 2004 VPN Deployment Kit Chapter 9 so VPN clients are assinged DHCP address and a DNS server for name resolution.
- We are observing a similar issue. We are noticing svchost.exe application errors in the event log with ntdll.dll as the culprit. We have tried moving away from DHCP to a static pool and that did not help. We are having this issue intermittently and can't pinpoint why it is happening. A case is open with MS but as of yet we have not been able to resolve. Any ideas are appreciated.
We show no svchost.exe application errors in the event log. The last time RRAS stopped was a week ago, on 3/5.
There is not much I can do but find out what to look for and wait for it to stop again. Thanks for your input, I will let you know if I find anything else on this.
