Dear All, We have 2 AD intergrated DNs servers. And in DNS server we have put forwarders to resolve the the external queries. This dns servers are used by ISA 2006 EE to name resolving. It was working fine. Recently we have some issue with ISP link.So when ISP link goes down and coming up like Variation is there. So once this happens suddenly our DNS server not able to resolve external queries. It is able to resolve internal queries. Then if i restart the dns service also it is not resolving.SO the only thing is to restart then only it will work fine. Thanks Sudhir

    Hi,

    Thank you for the post.

To resolve this issue, you may edit the SocketsInAcceptReuseList registry value to prevent this issue from occurring when you modify network adaptor settings or IP addresses in ISA Server 2006. To do this, follow these steps:

1.Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.

2.Locate and then click the following registry subkey:

       HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\FwSrv\Parameters\SocketsInAcceptReuseList

Note: If this registry subkey does not exist, you must create it. To do this, follow these steps:

                 1).Locate the following registry subkey:

                     HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\FwSrv\Parameters

2).Right-click this registry subkey, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.

3).In the Name box, type SocketsInAcceptReuseList.

3.Right-click SocketsInAcceptReuseList, and then click Modify.

4.In the Value data box, type 0, and then click OK.

    5.Restart the Microsoft Firewall service.

    Hi,

    Thank you for the post.

I think you should create access rule to allow “anonymous” DNS access from your domain controller. And  your domain  controller must have ISA as its default gateway.  Please also check the forwarding setting on internal DNS Server and make sure the ip address is correct.

    Regards.
