I have followed this: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd440981.aspx guide but there is defentiely something wrong with my setup.
I have two Standard TMG 2010 with similar configuration.

In properties on both servers the Type is "Standalone server"
When I right click the server in management "Disconnect from Enterprise" shows?!?
When I click "Join Array" I only have the option to use an EMS.

I am verry confused? Isn't it possible to have a standalone of two domain joined TMG's in an array?

"This wizard helps you to join this Forefront TMG server to a standalone array or to an array managed by an Enterprise Management Server(EMS)."

    Well?

I have checked out that article as well. And from what I can understand there are three options.

    1. Use an EMS and join Enterprise TMG's in an array

    2. Use a EMS and join Standard TMG's in an array

    3. Use a dedicated TMG as a Standalone array Manager? hence joining standard TMG's (max 60) to a standalone Array.

Then why is the third and last option not available to me? It is grayed out in the wizard...

And why do I have the option to "disconnect Enterprise"? shouldn't it had been "Disconnect Server" or "Unmanage Server"?

    Hi,

    Thank you for the post.

Multiple-server arrays are only supported in Forefront TMG Enterprise. Forefront TMG Standard supports a single-server array only.

"A standalone array comprises two or more Forefront TMG servers that are connected and share the same configuration. The configuration is stored on one of the servers, which is designated as an array manager, and manages all the other servers in the array."
    Thats what Microsoft says...

And according to them you can utilize a Standalone array with standard license.
What good use of an array of only one server???
Sorry if i'm stupid but things are not clear for me.

    Hi,

    Thank you for the update.

Forefront TMG Standard Edition is always installed as a standalone server in a configuration containing one array that is associated with a single Forefront TMG server.
