Discussion Weird Internet access problem!!

I’m currently using TMG 2010 and Websense to filter my Internet traffic. At first I had an issue that cropped up with my users when accessing secure sites it would time out. I found out later it was a DNS issue which was resolved. Now I have an even stranger problem that I can’t get my head around. Specific users are complaining that when they try to accessing certain pages they are just getting a blank white screen and it appears that Internet Explorer will just freeze on trying to accessing these pages or it willing just time out and being really slow when surfing. If I try its fine and I can access the page, if I login as Administrator it also works fine. If I log on as that user on another machine it also has the same problem. I turned my Webnsense server off so everyone has direct Internet access out but the problem is still there. The only thing I can think of is that it is TMG 2010 is the cause.

Lets say I go to www.natwest.com it loads the page really quick, I then click the tab ’Commercial Banking’ and again it loads the page really quick. If I login as this specific user it’s slow to load the page and then I click ’Commercial Banking’ I just get a white page as though it’s trying to load the screen. Sometimes it gets half of the page of the page but I eventually get the standard Internet Explorer cannot access page, or sometimes it will load fine after about 3 minutes or so!!

I hope I am explaining my self correctly as I’m at my wits end with it? I’ve checked TMG and the logs look OK! It's only just starting doing all this weird stuff within the last month. All updates are on and I've also tried rebooting with no look.

Anyone help would be most appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

    Many Thanks

    Hi,

    Thank you for the post.

Please check the user sets in the internet access rule, do all the users belong to the same OU? Do you have enable we caching in TMG server?

It's even more strange I've found that it's only two users. If they login into there machines I get this problem explained above, if they log into someone elses computer it's fine. If I check the TMG logs to see if there's something going on all I see is lines of ABORTIVE_SHUTDOWN. The other day I tried rebooting my switch stack to see of somehting else was going on with packet corruption. But it did not fix it!

    Many Thanks
