Can MBSA tool scan vulnerabilities and patch issues in IIS7.5 /Server 2008 64bit setup ?

Hi
Recently once of my servers went down due to application pool crash an an event id 5138 was found in the event log. Even after patch updation same problem repeated. I would like to scan the IIS/2008 setup thoroughly for any missing patch and vulnerability. Can you please clarify whether MBSA 2.2 can be used for this purpose /
