    Can you tell me why my computer starts up on its own at 3 am each night.  I am not running a scan or downloading updates at this time.  XP Home--desktop--thanks

    Perhaps the motherboard's BIOS has a setting for "Wake on LAN".  If it has, you should disable this feature in the BIOS.
