I just bought a brand new computer on Friday with windows 7. Everything worked fine until today. On Facebook the pages keep flickering. The issue just started a good day after we have been using the computer. No clue how to fix it.

As a moderated forum is it not possible to delete/remove the posts of all the off-topic issues here.
I'm an ITIL v3 Expert qualified consultant, a previous employee of Microsoft, and huge fan and contributer to earlier versions of MOF but the clutter on this forum makes it almost impossible to see when a new issue has been raised and the value of any answers posted is lost to potential forum users.

Question on Creating Service Map for a Software Application

Hi All
I am currently in the process of creating Service Maps for all the Application Services for which we provide support.

I have some confusion on what needs to be included in the section for Application Streams. The e.g given in the Microsoft site is for Windows Vista Desktop service (which is somewhat different). The maps being created by me are for an Application Service (e.g SAP)

Looking for any sample/templates/guidance/tips on how to define that Stream.

I m running Windows Server 2003 With Service Pack 2. I also installed multiple services on single Server such as DC, DNS, WINS, DHCP And ISA server 2006

Until I install ISA server 2006 my another computer gets DHCP ip

When I install ISA on same machine my another computer don’ts get the DHCP ip

In isa firewall policy the system policy number 9 and 10 was enable

Dear sir/madam..
this is preets from india.i am facing a big problem..i am nt recognizing that as a virus activity or somthing else..The problem is whenever i want to boot my computer due to the mouse port/jack my keyboard gets inactive.but whenever i am removing my ps2 mouse jack from port all thing is ok.I have already tested the mouse,but it is working properly on other computer...(Also i hv formatted my system 2-3 times)

(Okay before you answer my question please note everything I have ALREADY done...)

I have an IBM Thinkpad T21. At the Windows Welcome screen, upon clicking on User/Administrator to login, the system PLAYS ME like it's going to login, but then logs right back out, going back to the User menu/Welcome screen. I have tried:

-Using the Windows XP install disk to reload the OS.
-Going to BIOS Menu and changing the start-up to CD Rom.
-Using F12 to pull up Boot Device and choosing it to load from the CD Rom
-Using F8 to load in each mode; Safe, Safe with Networking, Safe with Command Prompt, Directory Recovery

I absolutely cannot login to Windows XP to run command prompts or anything else. There is no way of reinstalling Winlogon.exe or even getting into the Windows XP disk without logging in first, as BIOS is not recognizing the disk.

There are no passwords set; I've run a scan on C: from F8, says its clean. I cannot extract anything from the CD, as it is not recognizing it, although the CD drive is functioning correctly.

I do know how to access System Recovery without going through the CD, so if anyone has any other ideas, please help. I would PREFER not to have to spend money on repair software.

I'm sure this is due to a virus.

Someone deleted my SoundMAX application and now I cannot get sound on my videos and other
applications that require sound. I ran a systems check on problem drivers and the results were I do
not have a video controller and that my multimedia audio controller was not configured.

I attempted to reinstall Windows Media Player 11 to see if I a sound codec,for videos or SoundMAX
would reinstall with it. The installation did not complete because of error message 8007F205.

Would anyone happen to know what is error message 8007F205, and how do I resolve this error?

I am using Microsoft Outlook 2003 on my work laptop. I have no issues sending email from work wireless connection, coffee shop wireless connection, but when I get home I can't send on my wireless connection. I get the error message.....

task mail.phillyfreshinc.com - sending reported error (0x800CCC0F) The connection to the server was interrupted.

I have no issue connecting to the internet and can also receive mail. The issue is just sending mail. Please help.

Office 2007 outlook problems

When I try to open outlook I receive the following error. The Add-in "Anti-Virus ViRobot" (c:\Program Files\SecurityShield\ShieldAntiVirus\VrCli.dll) cannot be loaded and has been disabled by Outlook. Please contact the Add-in manufacturer for an update. If no update is available, please uninstall the Add-in.
When I click the "ok" button I receive this error, "Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook Window."
I can't get into Outlook to try and uninstall any part of the Add-in. This is an anti-virus software I uninstalled awhile back, and have since went to Norton. What can I do to fix the problem?

Operations "full control" in Release Readiness MR

I found it interesting that all management reviews appear to act as bookends to each phase except for the Release Readiness MR in Deliver. This MR occurs before the final SMF (deploy) with the focus of ensuring release readiness and supportability. Ensuring sign-off before “go live” makes perfect sense. However, I have a few questions.

One output of the Release Readiness MR is: “Operations and support team in full control of the solution.” Is this simply a shift in responsibility inside the project team? If not, it doesn’t make sense that operations can be “in full control” when the Deploy SMF (that occurs after the Release Readiness MR) states that “During deployment, the project team deploys the core solution and the site components into the production environment; stabilizes the deployment; transfers the project to operations; and gets final customer approval for the new solution.”

The Operations Experience Role in the Deploy SMF “[w]orks with Release Management to ensure solution is operations ready.” This doesn’t read like a role that is “in full control.” My personal experience has been that operations generally secures CAB approval and performs the final migration to production. However, I have defined and documented ITSM process and workflows in environments where release always performs the migration and CAB approval themselves. I’m assuming that this is the preferred method in MOF, but I’m not convinced that I see it clearly spelled out.

I have a nagging concern that something could happen in the Deploy SMF that will not get pushed to the Operate Phase since the Release Readiness MR is the only official input to Operate. I know that change management is coordinating the release between the project team and operations to ensure a smooth and coordinated handoff. However, I can help but wonder if there’s a vital step in the Deploy SMF that will never get communicated to operations.

Finally, I completely missed where the term “milestone” entered the picture in the documentation. I’m sure I just need to take another look at everything, but I was caught by surprise when I was searching for the Release Readiness MR and kept encountering a Release Readiness Milestone.

Hi, I'm developing the Barcode System in the company with C# 2008, .NET Framework and Oracle 10g. This issue was appeared on August suddenly. When I make a program and start to build, it failed suddenly. It means sometimes, the build is succeeded. Everytimes, I rebuild the same program with a small changing of codes. I didn't touch any design. However, the compile file was gone after a few rebuilding. I check the virus first with Avira Desktop program. But no virus is existed. I have no idea why it happens on and on. Could you please help me to solve this? My computer's OS is Windows XP SP3, Visual Studio 2008, .NET Framework 3.5 SP1, Oracle 10g Client. Plan Phase Inputs

After looking at the documentation for MOF 4.0, I have a good idea of the relationships between the inputs and outputs for each phase and SMF. However, I’m having difficulty finding a strong link between Operate and Plan. All of the graphics show a “lifecycle” that suggests that an output from Operate is to be used as an input for Plan. As best I can find, there are the only specific Operate outputs that are listed as (Plan Phase) Service Alignment MR inputs:

· SLA metrics (Service Monitoring & Control SMF)

· Customer satisfaction surveys, other end user feedback (Customer Service SMF)

· Feedback from the Operational Health review in the Operate Phase (Operational Health MR)

Is this the extent of it? I'm looking for inputs specifically mentioned in the doucmentation as opposed to best practices in the wild.

Hi I am having a problem with my PC. I am using a Dell Deminsion 2400 series and windows XP. Recently I started noticing that my CPU goes all the way to 100% no matter what program I open and that I have 40-50+ processes running all at once in the task manager. This has caused my PC to slow down alot and freeze up. Especially when I am on the internet! I have the current IE on my computer. I even tried to do a complete factory restore on my PC but, the problem is still there. IT did not seem to start until I downloaded IE 8 and got the most recent Mozilla Firefox browser. Anyone having this problem with either of these programs where the CPU is at 100% 24day/7week? Oh and in the list of processes in the task manager I am getting numerous Lucallbackproxys. I thought this could be the problem but, I do not know anything about computer. Thanks
