Microsoft VX-3000 Doesn't Work Anymore?

I've been trying to use my Microsoft Lifecam VX-3000 after recently formatting my Windows 7 installation. While I did a clean install and installed the proper drivers on Microsoft's website, the webcam doesn't work at all. I've tried using it in Skype, Windows Live Messenger, Tinychat, but none of the programs can detect my webcam. Tinychat is the closest thing I've got working as it shows a picture and then on top of it, it'll say "This camera is in use by another application".
Thinking it was a bad driver install, I've tried uninstalling the old drivers, then removing it from Device Manager. I even unplugged the webcam prior to reinstalling the drivers, but it still doesn't work. I've run out of ideas and I think the only way to fix this is to do another format... Which I did a month ago.

I suggest you to check if the LifeCam control program (or any other program that could use the webcam) is running: this could prevent any other software from detecting or using the webcam.
Bye.
