    hi,

Codename "Stirling" is a management console for your existing security softwares. You can manage your all security softwares from one console. it provides central management of your all existing security softwares, reporting, real time monitoring, dynamic answering etc...

and as you said FS for Exchange Server,FS for sharepoint, FS TMG 2010 are system requirements for Codename "Stirling"... before installing Stirling you must install these security applications on your system.

and then with Stirling you will manage all of them from one management console and will deliver unified security management and reporting with comprehensive, coordinated protection across client, server applications, and network edge.

    System Requirements

    • Supported Operating Systems: Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2; Windows Server 2008; Windows Vista; Windows XP Service Pack 2

Next generation of Forefront Security for Exchange Server* requirements
    • Supported Operating Systems - Microsoft Windows Server® 2003 SP2 or Microsoft Windows Server 2008, X64 editions
    • 1 GHz or faster processor
    • 1 GB*** of RAM, in addition to that required for Microsoft Exchange Server (2 GB recommended)
    • 2 GB of available disk space, in addition to that required for Microsoft Exchange Server
    • Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 SP1 or Microsoft Exchange Server 2010
    • .NET Framework 3.0
    • PowerShell 1.0
    • MSXML 6.0

Next generation of Forefront Security for SharePoint requirements
    • Supported Operating Systems - Microsoft Windows Server® 2003 SP2
    • Dual 2.5 GHz or faster processors
    • 1 GB*** of RAM or more
    • 550 MB of available disk space
    • Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 SP1
    • .NET Framework 3.0
    • Microsoft Windows Workflow
    • Foundation Runtime Components
    • Internet Information Services (IIS) in IIS 6.0 worker process isolation mode
    • PowerShell 1.0

Forefront Threat Management Gateway 2010 (Next generation of ISA) requirement
    • Supported Operating Systems - Microsoft Windows Server® 2008 x64 editions
    • 1 GHz or faster processor
    • 1 GB of RAM or more
    • 150 MB of available disk space or more
    • Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition

*All minimum system memory and disk space requirements for Microsoft Exchange Server must be met before installing Forefront Security for Exchange Server. Too little available memory or disk space may impact the ability of Forefront Security for Exchange Server to scan large files.
** If both the Exchange and SharePoint products are installed on the same server, only Forefront for Exchange Server can be installed, to protect Exchange.
*** With each additional scan engine used, more memory is needed per scanning process.

    Thanks Mumin,

I was thinking that it already contains those products, my mistake :)

Now I have 1 more questions.

Question. If "Stirling" is a management console then what is the need of another product "Server Security Management Console". Is SSMC (server security management console) a subset of "Stirling" ?

    I read the datasheet.

I also tried to find out the difference between "Stirling" and FFSSMC. But could not find any comparison between them (except FFSSMC can not be installed on 64 bit.  Requirement shows it's for Windows server 2003 )

Once again thanks for your help.
