- What will Microsoft do to prevent the Vista horror of incompatible drivers when third party vendors do not release updated drivers?
Is there any intent to create backwardly compatible driver usage in a compatibility mode?
Compatibility mode has not worked well on my Win7 testing system which is an older AMD system.

- The "horror" of incompatible drivers is up to the manufacturer of the device. All MS can do is provide to you the drivers. If a manufacturer decides not to release a updated driver, there will be no updated driver. The good thing is that Vista drivers are compatible with win7.
And then what older AMD system do you have and what drivers are you attempting to install? Compat. mode is designed to make older drivers work, not the opposite.
