Sounds like either you have a bad monitor or a bad graphics card, or your hardware may not work properly with windows 7.
Windows 7 does not have any of these glitches on my system.

what hardware do you have (processor, ram, comp model, etc.)

Use another monitor to use the system. If that fixes the problem, then the monitor is bad and win7 is not at fault.

If that doesn't help, use another graphics card. If that works, then your graphics card is bad and win7 is not at fault.

Have the same issue.

Hardware: HP dc7700, Intel Core 2 Duo 6400 @2.13 GHz, Intel GMA Q965.

OS: Windows 7 Corporate 64bit (via Software Assurance).

As for me, my hardware (few posts above) was working under XP without any problems.

So it's not an hardware issue.

Drivers - well, may be.

Graphics subsystem of WIndows 7 in combination with the certain graphics card driver or work condtions - may be.

Use another monitor / external monitor on the laptop. If that has the same problems, then your graphics card or drivers is the problem. If the external monitor runs fine with no glitches, then your laptop's LCD screen is bad and needs replacement.

I have the same problem. Even with an external monitor it gives those glitches.

My graphicscard is an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) X3100. My laptop is an Toshiba l40-15b

I use the default drivers delivered by windows 7, because they're newer then the ones delivered by the laptop manufacturer.

You might try using the 'older drivers' and see if that works.

I have the same problem it is VERY irritating!... I am operating a Lenovo X200 Tablet. My graphics card is an Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family. I am having the same problem when using the drivers from the intel site... AND the drivers downloaded from lenovo's site... Would post screen shots if possible. Or would send screen shots so people can see what is happening.... When opening programs and swapping windows around it leaves horizontal line fragments. Its really weird. Any help would be nice.
