WINDOWS 7 SLEEPING PROBLEM

WINDOWS 7 PRO (clean install on COMPAQ sr1930T) WILL NOT RECOVER FROM SLEEPING. YOU HAVE TO RESTART THE COMPUTER.

I FIXED THE PROBLEM BY SHUTTING SLEEP DOWN AND USING HIBERNATION. BUT I WANT TO KNOW IF MICROSOFT IS DEVELOPING A FIX.

Is there any way to put the command bar and menu bar on the same toolbar like ie6? CAN A FIX BE CREATED. THERE WAS A MICROSOFT FIX TO MOVE THE MENU BAR BACK TO THE TOP AND CERTAINLY MICROSOFT CAN DO THE SAME FOR THE COMMAND BAR AND MENU BAR.

Computer is HP a6600f deskto PC with Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit. Until a couple of weeks ago, I could connect to the internet on either launch of 32 or 64 bit. 64 bit stopped and displays the message "unable to display the page". I have done all the steps to reset, etc. that HP has recommended (page after page) to no avail. They finally said I had a dual boot system and they were unable to help. Vista was installed by HP and now Microsoft will not recognize the program ID to connect me to technical help. Computer is less than a year old. My ISP provider - Comcast has checked all their equipment - modem, cables, speed, and found no problems with their service. Does anyone else have this dual 32-64 bit problem?

migrating windows XP hard drive to a new computer

Hi,
I know everyone has wanted to do this at some point in life.
Back in the days of win 98 I had it all figured out but now with
XP Pro that I am using and quite happy with but I want to move my old hard drive
over to a new system with diferent hardware settings you all know what I mean.

Win XP is not very good at reloading the mother board drivers and devices
that win98 or ME could so I wonder is there is a way to put my hard drive
into the new CPY and start winXP and have it reinstall the basic drivers
for the new system without having to start from scratch.

I have a lot of stuff on my older cpu and I just dont have the time or the
patience to reinstall it all again God there has to be an easier way to migrate WinXP
into a new piece of hardware. I have some ideas on what to try but again I just though
I would ask the wizards out there.
Can anyone help me here or suggestions would be nice, maybe there is a piece of software
that can do all this but I dont know what to look for.

So I havnt been on this forum for some time and dont know how you anyone would reply with an

Is there a program that will Sync all of my computers?
Sync all files / programs on my home computer to my laptop and then to my work computer.
Don't want to have a flash drive. I can sync from my work computer to my mobile phone.

While typing a document, using word 97', a heavy dotted line apeard across the page, at a point I was using several asterist to sepparate paragraphs. and can not be erased. When I try putting in a page break at the dotted line, the line follows the previous page and will not go away. How do I get rid of the document destroying blimish, without having to retype the whole document. I am using windows 2000 and word 97'

Could it possible to Published again the Backup database of Replicated database (Publisher)?.

We had encounter this message " Could not find the Distributor or distribution database for the local server. The Distributor may not be installed, or the local server may not be configured as a Publisher at the Distributor."

How can we fix this error so that we can proceed to Publish again the database? Anyone could share with us to solve this problem.

We`ve got about 60 clients in network. We used to use Openfiler as iSCSI SAN solution. Recently fatal error happend, and after i fixed it I want to migrate to another iSCSI solutin - I don`t want to risc. So my issues are:
1)Secure networking. It`s realy important for us;
2)Robust backup solution. I need that to be realy in sure after accident I had.
3)Openfiler was pretty hard to use, so I wont something easier;
4)Good performance, of course.
I realy need your professional opinion!

In LCS, when RPD was utilized and full screen was used, LCS would automatically switch to "do not disturb" mode, I would like for this to occur with OCS, and I do not want the grant the users the ability to change this. Also, in LCS, there was an instance, that if I were to leave at 1PM, it would state that I have been idle SINCE 1PM, I would like the same for this, I do not see this in OCS, and I want to enable this also prohibiting the users from changing it.

My name is Sami, I live in Germany, untill yesterday the date 16.09. I was using MSN messinger 8.5. From yesterday I cannot open it anymore, it ask me to download the newest version and I have download it. Now this new version when I sign in it is ok but after a short time (15-20) seconds it is automaticly signing out. I have tried a lot but I coulden't find the sulution.

Could you please help me to solve this problem because most of peoples I know and most of my familiars are using MSN messinger.

I bought this programming from Stauffacher, Bern Switzerland on sale and can't refund it and can't program it because ther's no route to the Internet on it, so when io load it I can't activate it online ... so it's sat around ever sice I bought it months ago and i make do with the factory software sol with this Toshiba Satellite.

I have a strange problem. When I click on the IE7 (windows xp) icon, the widown opens up, but I get no content on the webpage. In other words I get no website. I'm writing this on another computer, because I can't see anything on that one. It appears that it is trying to open, but it just doesn't. Hey, I am a typical college graduate that ended up not following through with a job I got my degree in. I do love IT and I love technology and I love working with it. And I am currently working full time at a simple desk job and of course this is not suppose to last forever but its killing me because I really want to work with technology in some way. My problem is that I have no formal education in IT, and I mean I would love hands on experience and begin to learn and get experience. Whats the best thing for me to do? I looked at certification schools offered in DFW (expensive) I considered getting an associates in a form of IT but I would have to take out more loans and quit my job which means no steady income. Is there anyone that has advice for me? What should I do to begin the experience I need to get a job in IT. Go back to school? Buy books on it? Because I dont know stuff like Linux or Java (which makes me not so marketable but I would love to learn that)I know a bit on computer hardware but have never built one, and I wouldnt mind learning stuff like Java or Linux because I loved it when I took HTML classes in the past. Any advice? Sorry this is so long, I am just stuck on what I should do at this point. Thanks! I don't know if this helps either but I am young, 23 years old. Just confused on what to do with have a love for this field since I love computers but only knowing a little more than basic knowledge on it.

I would like to comment on an MsWord facility that I found very useful in an older version (about 10 years ago). This was a file search function where one could type in a phrase and a search of all MsWord files would be made for those containing the phrase. In a later version a few years on, the function had been modified and had become less useful and now in the latest versions I can’t find it at all! Who decides on what to remove and what new innovations to add? That is if it really isn’t available anyway although I’ve really searched since to try to find this function. This brings me to another point. If the developers are really running out of new things to introduce or change, can they at some point concentrate on revising the whole system which appears to have become unwieldy and user unfriendly in the process of adding on more and more? Sometimes it appears that functions are changed just to keep Microsoft employees busy and then we must figure out how to do things (that we used to do) all over again!

I found that Windows 7 is much better than Vista in my opinion.

Has anyone wondered why Microsoft has not designed the newer OS's to run programs which run on Win 98/ME? I found the many of my programs which served me well could no longer run on XP and Vista. I would suggest designing an option during installation which would allow the feature to be installed.

I also suggest installing an integrated security suite (firewall, antivirus, spyware) which can be installed as an optional feature to permit the user install or remove at will.

Program uninstall features need to be improved.

Hi All,
I've checked most of the forum questions and answers but still nothing relating to my problem. I will explain... Am attempting to edit my boot configuration data, to change the text of my O/S to read the information i want, to make my pc more personal. I have tried to to get access to the BCD editor via programs but the window opens then within a flash disappears, i even tried access from the command line but it states "access is denied" i've check my original disk to see if i could recover the file from disk but no BCDedit file available for recovery... Can you help! I have no script details i can provide as there where none to copy, i can only say that my system is Vista Home Premium x86 with SP1. Additional information:- I found the BCDedit program in another program called Norton Ghost which i normally use for backing up my system is that normal? I also placed the BCDedit program on desktop in case there was a conflict but the same result happened window open then disappeared in a flash! Can you help?
