Restrict recipient Limit in exchange

    Question

  • I have got the request from my organization to block recipients to 3 for a user. When I do add more than 3 recipients in TO: i'm able to achieve my results. But If the user send a mail to DL (more that 200 users in it) he is able to send. can anyone help me on this?

    Thanks in Advance.!!!

  • Hi,

you can achieve your goal by restricting users to send an email to a distribution group. here are the steps to do so

    1. Open exchange management console

    2. Navigate to distribution group --> properties --> Mail Flow Setting --> Message Delivery Restrictions --> Properties --> Accept Messages from and modify the only users that can send messages to distribution group or who have the right to send an email to distribution group (HR, top management etc)

  • Thanks a lot Riaz. We have so many DLs like this.

Irrespective of a particular user i need to apply this restriction, Instead of putting a restriction in DL is there any way to apply restriction on users front.
