backup file should be restored to a server with version '1178817357.0.20432091.0' or later

    Question

  • Dear all,

My colleague prepared me a site collection backup file. It is a file name xxx.bak.

When I tried restore it using Restore-SPSite command it return : the backup file should be restored to a server with version '1178817357.0.20432091.0' or later.

I searched on web and suggested me using stsadm instead. But it is now return :

Your backup is from a different version of Microsoft SharePoint Foundation and cannot be restored to a server running the curr. The backup file should be restored to a server with version '1178817357.0.20432091.0' or later.

I have applied the same accumulative Sharepoint patch for both Sharepoint server. I am not sure what is missed... Thank you for all the input.

  • On both farms, run:

    (Get-SPFarm).BuildVersion

What is the output?  Make sure this matches when taking the backup of the site collection.

  • Tervor,

You're right. One is 14.0.6134 and another is 14.0.7102. But I am not sure why. Because I have applied the same accumulative patch.
