Object doesn't support this property 'MachineObjectOUOptional'

    Question

  • I am altering our build sequence and having it auto join the machine to the domain instead of allowing the tech to choose the proper OU.  Attached is a copy of what I have currently set for my rules and the error I receive.  It gets to the point of inputting the machine name and moves on to the application pane.  When I click next on that window I get the error.  Any help would be appreciated.

  • Are you still using the DomainOUList.xml?  And what version of MDT are you using... I sort of remember this being an old error, but I though it had been fixed in newer versions....

  • I'm on 2012 Update1

This worked in the past when using the same rules for an offline installation using a DVD but when trying to deploy the same rules through my server I get this error.

  • Good on 2012U1... but are you using DomainOUList.xml on your deployment share for network deployments?

  • Thanks for getting me pointed to the DomainOUList.xml file.  I copied it from the content directory of a DVD that the settings worked on to the server and it appears to be working.  Now I need to find out why I had the issue to begin with but at least I can move forward with the changes I needed to implement.
