Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu

    Question

  • Hello:

My name is Michael Franklin and I am trying to install SBS 2008 and can not get too far as when I install the correct driver, the issue is related to the computer hardware, but it impacts the install as I am unable to move past the driver install screen.

I thought I had installed the driver correctly, however it seems when I install the driver, the following error message appears, "This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk.  Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu."

    Regards,

  • I had an issue like this recently when i was booting from a usb disk. I also had an additional USB drive installed. When i took that out, i rebooted and started setup again, and it worked first time.
