Password Reset Customization

    Question

  • On the password reset page of FIM 2010, I want to include a URL/link of one of my LOB application. Can we do this?

Aim is to provide user's easy access to accessing applications after he successfully resets password.

Everywhere I see articles describing changing logo, css and pre-defined string resources. I could not see any example telling how to embed custom URL.

  • Hi,

It is same as we usually do into HTML. Suppose If you want to add a link at Password Registration page at last stage. Please follow these steps:

    1) Go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Forefront Identity Manager\2010\Password Registration Portal

    2) Open Default.aspx file with Notpad or by any other mean.

    3) Search for "FinalizeRegistrationSubHeading3" or where ever you want to add a link.

    4) and then add there a link .

Same with the Password Reset page also.

I hope this will help you.

    Thanks~

I think all the customizable text is treated as literal. I had the same requirement a while back and ended up editing the Default.aspx page to include the text where appropriate.

I do recall that when you modify the file it might break the hotfix / patching process for the non-supported customizations to that page. So be sure to backup your original copy :)
